William Angliss Institute (WAI) - Specialist Centre for Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts
William Angliss Institute, through the generous donation from Sir William Angliss, a prominent Melbourne businessman was established as Australia's first trade college dedicated to providing training for the food industry In 1940!
Since then WAI a multi-awarded training provider has evolved to an Australian Government endorsed Specialist Centre for Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts and is recognised as Australia's leading provider of training for these key industry sectors. Each year over 15,000 students including 1,000 international students are trained at the main campus in Melbourne, Victoria. The Institute also delivers training direct to industry partners through offices interstate, four joint venture campuses in China and international consultancy projects around the world, as well as contributes to a number of ongoing local community programs.
The industry-standard training facilities including simulated and live class rooms; experienced trainers; and vibrant industry network at the Institute contribute to one of the highest graduate outcomes in Australia.
